What the hell is going on. Why can't the parking attendants show a bit of leniency. I mean, I was visiting Edinburgh, spending money there on accommodation, food and drink and entertainment. In other words piling money into the local economy. And my car was in no way obstructing anything. And still I got a ticket. I wasn't even asked to move it.
The one good thing was that while I was taking photos of my car and the ticket, a next door neighbour came out and said that he had seen the parking attendant putting the ticket on the car at 07.30am. He had gone out and asked him 'what was he doing that for' and then got into an argument. Gave the parking attendant a rollicking! haha! I didn't even know the guy but I shook his hand to say thanks for the support.
So - £60 I have to pay.... its just not right!!
Here's the proof!

Update 26th May 2012.
Wee hee!! Guess what? The council have cancelled my parking ticket after I sent in a letter of complaint. They agreed that I wasn't obstructing anything or causing a danger. So although it was illegal they can show leniancy under certain circumstances. Excellent!!
